Held on 5 April, our latest 'Women Who Lead' call brought together some 20 inspiring women from around the network to exchange experiences and learn from one another.

Amongst others, we heard from Joanne Kingsnorth from Seymour Taylor, UK, who shared her story and "Words of Wisdom" with the Group. Joanne comments:

“The Women Who Lead call was a great meeting: I think the calls are really starting to flow now with great engagement. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share, always happy to assist.”

Joining our call for the first time was Hina Usmani from Ilyas Saeed & Co. (ISCO), Pakistan who once headed up the first all-female lead firm in Pakistan and who shared many of her great achievements. It was also a first time for Rosemary Rehner from Barnes Wendling CPAs, Inc., Ohio, US, who recently joined our North America Coordinating Committee.

'Women Who Lead’ shining a light on the exceptional women leaders throughout our member firms and across the MGI Worldwide network.

It is encouraging to hear the positive feedback we have received from our women leaders who see these meetings as an opportunity to sharing experiences, getting to know each other and creating bonds with other members across the global network.

Save the Date

There was plenty of enthusiasm to continue with our monthly calls with the next one on Tuesday 24 May same time of 1:00 PM BST London.

For this call we will be discussing ideas for what to do on Business Women's Day which takes place on 22 September and we will continue to discuss different aspects of mentoring and exploring ideas and opportunities to encourage and support women in accounting. Karin Monchak from MGI Assurance Auditores Independentes S.S., Brazil, will also start our next workshop discussion.

About 'Women who Lead'

While women are well-represented across the accounting sector, there is still a gap at the leadership end. By celebrating the successes and talent of our female leaders, we hope to inspire positive change throughout our network and in the profession. We will ‘lead by example’ and explore opportunities to encourage and support the next generation of women and the future leaders of accounting.

Now it’s more important than ever to encourage and support new talent from the next generation of future accounting leaders. Our intention is to communicate how accessible the accounting industry is and the wealth of opportunities it presents for women.

If you have news to share, we would love to hear it.
