MGI Worldwide is excited to announce that the brand new MGI Australasia Graduate Academy has kicked off to a great start! The intensive 40-week programme aims to assist the transition of the region's accountants from their tertiary education into the workforce.
Combining technical skills education and practical work examples with soft skills training sessions and networking opportunities, the MGI Australasia Grad Academy allows graduate accountants, also known as trainee accountants, to fast-track their career.
Academy gets off to a strong start
MGI Australasia is offering this program in six locations across Australia this year. Our MGI Worldwide CEO, Clive Vegas Bennett, welcomed the 24 grads on the first day of the Academy alongside MGI Australasia Chairman Lorin Joyce. Since then, the grads have had a chance to meet the team from Chartered Accountants ANZ, many of the partners and senior members of the MGI Australasia team. The grads have also already submitted their first two assignments and have already completed their first module of study!

When asked what they were most looking forward to in the program, Surbhi Arora, one of the team members from our Canberra-based firm, MGI Joyce | Dickson, answered:
"I am excited about the potential learning opportunities through the modules of the MGI Australasia Graduate Academy as I believe it offers an ideal combination of theoretical expertise and practical working experience. I especially like the fact that whatever is taught to us through this program can easily be tied back to a time when someone in the office had worked on a client problem and were effective at resolving the issue.
I am looking forward to becoming a better accountant through the ongoing training and learnings from the prior experiences of my colleagues!"
