24th October 2013
Final preparations are now under way for what is shaping up to be one of our best conferences yet, writes Paul Winder.
As I mentioned in the last newswire, this year’s conference will take place at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort Hotel from Thursday, 28 November, to Saturday, 30 November, with the theme being ‘The Morality of Business’.
We are lucky to have some excellent speakers lined up, including Nick Leeson, the rogue trader whose unchecked risk-taking led to the collapse of Barings Bank in 1995 – one of the biggest financial scandals of the 20th century.
Other guest speakers confirmed include former MI5 agent Annie Machon,Olympus whistleblower Michael Woodford, and Richard Brooks, author of ‘The Great Tax Robbery’. We will also hear from Liz Higgs, ethics and integrity manager at the ICAEW.
This year’s conference should provide plenty of food for thought and I hope it will also inspire some lively debate.
Registration and networking starts at 3pm on the Thursday, with the conference formally commencing at 4pm and concluding at noon on the Saturday. The conference dinners will be hosted on Thursday and Friday evening, providing a great opportunity for networking with UK and international delegates, and our sponsors.
If you have not yet booked your place, or you know someone who is interested in attending, then please visit the MGI UK& Ireland website, where you can also view a promotional video for the event.
I look forward to seeing you there.
