As well as being a top firm of chartered accountants, Midgley Snelling LLP has also been emerging as a firm of keen runners too.

Never known to shy away from a challenge, Midgley Smelling LLP put together a team of seven to take part in the 2014 Mundays 5K charity fun run. The team, which included James Beecher, Janice Chessman, Kate Drozd, Jonathan Farrow, Stacey Hewitt, Greg Kulesza and Tracey Wickens, completed the course in aid of the Princess Alice Hospice, which has provided free end of life care to adult patients since 1985.

Organised by Cobham solicitors Mundays, this year’s run raised around £10,000 for the Esher-based charity.

Tracey Wickens, a partner at Midgley Snelling LLP said: “We have supported this event since its inception seven years ago and we have an enthusiastic group of staff that are always willing to join in.”

As well as running in the 5K fun run, partner Jonathan Farrow also ran a slightly longer distance when he recently competed in the Barcelona marathon in a time of four hours and 40 minutes.

This was Jonathan’s sixth marathon – having already run in Berlin, London, Paris, Rome and New York – and he said that he would like to compete in the Moscow marathon in September 2015. “After each marathon I keep saying that it’ll be my last, but you can never say never,” he commented.

Recalling his recent run, Jonathan said: “Barcelona is a great city with a great crowd there to support you. I really enjoyed it, especially running around the new stadium. At 20 miles, the pain started to set in and lasted for about five miles, but I enjoyed the first 20 and the last mile!”
