An up and coming basketball player from Bradford is receiving support from Watson Buckle, as part of their Olympic Legacy Foundation.
Zion Tordoff, a 16-year-old basketball player who competes with Bradford Dragons Basketball Club, is well on his way to achieving this dream and already plays in Division 1 of the England National Basketball League. Ongoing support from Watson Buckle will be used to purchase necessary equipment and help him attend England national Under 16 squad training.
Stuart Culliford, Zion’s club Chairman at Bradford Dragons, said: “Currently six foot six and still growing, he is an outstanding player that needs help to utilise the opportunities available to develop his skills to achieve his potential as an international player.”
Mark Wilcock, said: “Zion shows a lot of potential of being a future superstar in GB basketball and we feel that this donation will go a long way to helping him realise his dream of one day playing for his country at senior full international level.
“We created the Foundation to encourage future generations to get involved in sports; enabling them to live active and healthy lives, and we are glad to see that it is continuing to help sportspeople."
