Midgley Snelling LLP recently entered the second Weybridge Community Regatta and raised money for Weybridge Rowing Club in the process.
This local community networking event was attended and supported by several local businesses and of the 17 that entered, the Midgley Snelling LLP team was one of just two teams that had an all-female line-up.
Comprising Tracey Wickens, Tracy Gibbons, Judith Foster and Clare Campbell-Smith, the four women had no rowing experience but were still able to put in a good performance.
Tracey Wickens said: “During the day, all teams competed in a team trial on water over 500m and competed against other teams over the same distance. There was also an ergo team relay which all teams took part in. Furthermore, Clare and I participated in the ergo individual sprint. Clare came first and I finished sixth.
“The weather started off wet in the morning and changed to very wet in the afternoon, but it did not dampen our spirits and everyone had an enjoyable time and got to meet new people at this very well-organised event.”
