A long-running musical partnership between Essex-based accountants Rickard Keen and solicitors Palmers was once again revived at the end of last year.

The two firms held their annual carol concert in Basildon, Essex, on 11 December which saw the Southend Band provide musical accompaniments to representatives from the Southend Young Singers, who performed a selection of traditional hits to the large crowd.

When it has been counted, money from the concert will be donated to St Luke’s Hospice and Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals’ Charitable Trust, Polly Parrot Appeal.

Rickard Keen also hosted another carol concert on 17 December in Southend-on-Sea to raise money for local charity and community centre, Storehouse. Singers from Southend Boys’ and Girls’ Choir performed alongside the Southend Band during the performance and were cheered along by the large audience.

Noel Kelleway, director at Rickard Keen said: “Both evenings were really enjoyable and it was nice to see so many people getting into the spirit of things at both of the events. We would like to thank everybody who sponsored, attended and helped raise so much for St Luke’s Hospice, the Polly Parrot Appeal and Storehouse. Without these generous donations none of the charities would be able to provide the care and support that they give.”
