Harrison Beale & Owen’s (HB&O’s) corporate finance specialists have given seminar delegates an expert insight into a key question for every business owner.
‘How Much is My Business Worth?’ was the theme of the seminar on 18 November, which explored issues including the “myths and maths” of business valuations and the different valuations achieved by using earnings-based or asset-based calculations, and how these might also differ from a market value where both buyer and seller were willing.
Greg Philp, who heads HB&O Corporate Finance and led the seminar, said: “While an owner will know more about their business than anyone else, its market value is one area where they are often in the dark.
“Yet establishing a value is the starting point for increasing the worth of the business and maximising returns on the time, money and hard work they have invested in building a successful enterprise.
“The seminar was designed to give attendees an insight into the principles of the business valuation process and how it works.”
