Past and Present Positions

I joined Haruna Yahaya & Co in 2001 as pioneer Managing Partner/CEO. Prior to that, I worked in Corporate Finance Departments of Nigeria Merchant Bank Plc 1989 – 1991 and New African Merchant Bank Plc 1991 – 1993. I served in the Compliance Sub-Committee of Capital Market Committee (CMC) of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Nigeria 2006 – 2011. I was a member of Financial System Strategy Team (FS 2020) of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) 2005. I am a registered Capital Market Operator with SEC as Reporting Accountant, 2006 to date. I am also a member of Corporate Finance Management Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) 2011 to date.

Principle professional specialisms

While I was a Merchant Banker, I acted as advisor in various aspects of M & A such as Business Valuation, Financial Due Diligence, Negotiation of Agreement. I worked in the Unit in charge of issuance of Initial Public Offers (IPO), Private Placement, Preparation of Placement Documents (Prospectus), Investment appraisals. I also participated in the privatization/sale of Federal Government enterprises in Nigeria. As Financial Controller of FSB International Bank Plc, I participated actively in the Merger of FSB International Bank with Fidelity Bank in 2005.
