The 2025 Asia regional meeting is being held in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Once the heart of the Khmer Empire (9th - 15th century), Siem Reap is home to the iconic Angkor Wat.

Tourism is the city’s economic backbone, but COVID-19 brought significant setbacks. Today, Siem Reap is bouncing back, with infrastructure upgrades, new attractions, and a focus on sustainable tourism. The city remains a vibrant mix of ancient history and modern development, offering a unique experience for the delegates attending the 2025 Asia regional meeting.

The country Cambodia is projected to grow between 5.8% and 6.0% in 2025, driven by strong garment exports, a recovering tourism sector, and rising foreign investment. However, it faces ongoing challenges from U.S. tariffs on key exports like garments and footwear. These pressures have prompted efforts to engage the U.S. in talks for possible relief.

The situation underscores the vulnerability of Cambodia's economy to external trade policies and highlights the need for inclusive growth, diversification of its export markets.and resilience in its economic strategies.
