What the seminar covers

The seminar will address practical and topical issues that regularly arise in the day-to-day work of audit and accounting professionals. The programme is built around technical updates, expert-led sessions, and peer exchange on themes highly relevant to today’s professional environment.

Based on the current draft agenda, the seminar will include sessions on:

  • recent developments in auditing,
  • developments connected to the latest decisions of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA),
  • practical perspectives from specialist presenters,
  • and a dedicated session on effective audit reviews.

Alongside the technical content, the seminar will also provide space for discussion, comparison of national practices, and exchange of ideas among professionals from different firms and countries.

How the seminar is structured

The seminar day combines technical presentations, focused learning sessions, and opportunities for professional discussion. Participants will benefit from:

  • expert input on current audit and accounting developments,
  • practical insights from specialists and experienced practitioners,
  • structured time for questions and discussion,
  • and informal exchange with colleagues from different countries and firms.

The format is intended to be practical, relevant, and interactive rather than purely lecture-based. It offers participants the chance not only to update their knowledge, but also to reflect on how current developments are being approached in different markets.

What participants gain in concrete terms

Participants can expect to gain:

  • an update on recent technical and professional developments in auditing and accounting,
  • practical insight into issues affecting firms across different jurisdictions,
  • stronger understanding of current review and quality-related topics,
  • direct exchange with experienced peers from other countries,
  • new ideas and perspectives that can be applied within their own firm,
  • and the opportunity to strengthen their international professional network.

The seminar is particularly valuable for managers and partners who are looking for high-quality technical input combined with peer-level discussion in an international setting.

Setting and additional programme

The seminar will be hosted at Châteauform’s Landhuis Marienheuvel, a venue near Schiphol Airport that offers an excellent environment for focused learning, open discussion, and informal networking. Its workshop-oriented setting encourages participants to stay together throughout the event and continue conversations beyond the formal sessions.

As part of the wider programme, an additional session will take place on Thursday afternoon, 11 June, bringing together participants from both the International Tax Seminar and the International Audit and Accounting Seminar. This session is expected to focus on personal development / self-management and will offer a valuable opportunity for cross-disciplinary exchange before the technical seminar begins.

In summary

The 2026 International Audit and Accounting Seminar offers a valuable combination of technical updates, practical relevance, and international exchange. It is designed to help participants stay current, share perspectives with peers, and build stronger professional connections across the MGI network.

We hope you will join us in June for what promises to be a highly engaging and worthwhile event.
