MGI Worldwide continues to rank among Africa's top 20 accounting networks

MGI Worldwide has ranked highly among Africa's top 20 accounting networks in the IAB May & June 2018 editions

MGI Worldwide is proud to announce that our global accountancy network continues to rank among the top 20 in Africa, as revealed in the May and June 2018 editions of the International Accounting Bulletin (IAB).

MGI Worldwide ranks highly in key African markets:

South Africa

The May 2018 edition of the IAB ranked MGI Worldwide as the 15th top international accounting network in South Africa in terms of its fee income, and in 17th place for its staff data.

MGI Worldwide's total fee income rose by six per cent over the last year to reach a total of ZAR 62 million, with the largest proportion of this (44 per cent) coming from audit and assurance services, followed by accounting services (23 per cent).

The network had a total of 89 staff in South Africa as of May: 12 Partners and 77 professionals.

Arthur Baguley, Partner at MGI Worldwide member firm MGI Bass Gordon and International Committee Member representing MGI in Africa, was quoted in the May edition of the IAB, highlighting that the audit profession is not currently seen to be providing its expected level of due diligence by the rest of the sector. This suggests there may be room for improvement to be made in the near future.

Kenya

In Kenya, MGI Worldwide ranked in 16th place for fee income (KES 8.3 million - a rise of 0.3 per cent in the last year), with 95 per cent of this figure coming from audit and assurance work, and the remainder from tax services.

The network also came in 16th place for staff data in Kenya, with eight staff altogether: four Partners and four professionals.

Nigeria

Over in Nigeria, MGI Worldwide ranked in 18th place for both fee income (NGN 11.8 million) and staff data (11 in total).

Ghana

MGI Worldwide ranked among the top 20 global accountancy networks in Ghana in the June 2018 edition of the IAB, coming in 12th place in terms of its total fee income and 13th for staff data.
