MGI Malta has reinforced its structure with the appointment of a new partner, Walter Rizzo, and 2 new, experienced team members, Julian Abela and Rossana Elena Farrugia.
These exciting new appointments add great value to the audit and assurance services sector of the firm. Walter Rizzo is the founder of Walter Rizzo & Associates (providing an array of financial services) and together with his team, they are currently settling down and getting accustomed to MGI Worldwide protocols and synergising the various services offered to clients. Walter has also brought with him his client base, besides a wealth of experience of over 30 years in the financial services sector.
Both members of staff, Julian Abela and Rossana Elena Farrugia, have also been assigned the responsibility of implementing new audit procedures and introducing Caseware as the new audit tool. Implementation has already started and is progressing smoothly.
Meet the new MGI Malta team members:
Walter Rizzo – New Partner
Walter started his accountancy career in 1982. He successfully completed the ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) - the global body for professional accountants in 1989.
Walter subsequently started his private practice, which grew, in time, to become his partnership Walter Rizzo & Associates.
His specialist areas are property companies, general trading companies, family businesses and international clients. He is a Certified Public Accountant with a practicing certificate to act as auditor as well as a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants.
Julian Abela – Assurance & Audit
Julian completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Banking and subsequently obtaining a Masters in Accountancy from the University of Malta in 2018.
Julian holds a Maltese Certified Public Accountant Warrant and a Holder of a Practising Certificate in Auditing.
He is also a Member of the Malta Institute of Accountants. He has gained considerable experience in auditing local and international clients within several industries including but not limited to insurance, gaming, and aviation.
Rossana Elena Farrugia – Assurance & Audit
Rossana is a Certified Public Accountant who has qualified in Master of Accountancy at the University of Malta and holds the warrant of a Certified Public Accountant with a practicing certificate to act as auditor.
Rossana is also a Member of the Malta Institute of Accountants. Rossana has specialised in auditing and has gained experience in auditing various companies in a wide range of sectors.
