Excellence without borders: International Accounting & Audit Seminar 2026

Audit seminar thumb.png

Held in Landhuis Marienheuvel, near Amsterdam on 11 - 12 June, this year's International Accounting & Audit Seminar combined technical presentations, focused learning sessions and structured discussion time, alongside informal exchange with colleagues from different countries and firms.

The format was practical, relevant and interactive giving participants the chance to update their knowledge and to reflect on how current developments are being approached across different markets. It is particularly valuable for managers and partners seeking high-quality technical input combined with peer-level discussion in an international setting.

An international gathering

This year's seminar welcomed 24 delegates from 15 firms across 9 countries, including the United Kingdom — a clear demonstration of the international character and reach of the MGI Europe network.

What participants gained

  • An update on recent technical and professional developments in auditing and accounting
  • Practical insight into issues affecting firms across different jurisdictions
  • A stronger understanding of current review and quality-related topics
  • Direct exchange with experienced peers from other countries
  • New ideas and perspectives to apply within their own firm, and a stronger international network

Thursday 11 June - joint session

On the Thursday afternoon, a joint session was held with International Tax Seminar delegates, focused on personal development — currently centred on self-management — followed by a shared dinner at the venue. It complemented the technical programme and gave a second opportunity for cross-disciplinary exchange ahead of Friday's seminar.

The venue

Landhuis Marienheuvel is a Châteauform countryside estate near Amsterdam — a historic country house with modern meeting facilities, bright rooms and outdoor space. Staying together on-site removes the usual conference-hotel distractions.

With thanks

The seminar would not be possible without the time and commitment of the firms and individuals who prepared and delivered sessions, generously sharing their expertise alongside their regular client work. Our thanks go to all of the speakers:

  • Dr Michael Grüne (Menold Bezler) — Welcome, ESMA Update, Closing remarks
  • Simon Kettlewell (HAT Group) — Update on Recent Developments in Auditing, Effective Audit Reviews
  • Katarzyna Malewska (ABC Audit) — Automation and Use of AI in the Audit
  • Andreas Voigt (MGI Greis Brosent) — Use of AI in Audit
  • Marta Kozłowska (ABC Audit) — Client Cooperation and Communication

A special thank-you to Dr Michael Grüne, whose continued effort and dedication year after year make this seminar happen — from shaping the programme to anchoring the day itself. We are equally grateful to MGI Europe for its financial support, which keeps the delegate fee low and the seminar accessible to member firms across the region.

Thank you for your loyalty

Year after year, this seminar's continuity rests on participants who keep returning to share their time and expertise. With particular thanks to:

  • Caisa Westin
  • Katarzyna Malewska
