Italian-US initiative: marketing MGI’s global services

Italian-US initiative: marketing MGI’s global services

MGI Studio Pragma in Rome, Italy, introduced Kirsch Kohn Bridge from Los Angeles, California, to the main Italian authorities for the development of future collaboration between Italy and California

October 24,  2012. Francesco Bartolucci and Giorgio Gragnola, Partners, and Monia Buoncompagni, Senior Consultant, from MGI Studio Pragma met in Rome with their colleagues Ken Ray and Leon Gendelman, Partners of Kirsch Kohn Bridge LLP.

Following the MGI 2012 Annual General Meeting in Cyprus Ken and Leon had the great idea to visit various MGI offices in Europe, including MGI Studio Pragma's Rome office. This kind of initiative helps members understand each other and develop relationships with partners and staff in each other’s offices, so we can grow mutually interesting business.

MGI Studio Pragma showed Ken and Leon their offices in Rome, presented their staff, their way of working and how they are linked inside the Italian capital. MGI Studio Pragma also set up important meetings with key Italian Authorities with whom they cooperate.

It was a very busy day for all involved but  it was a very successful example of how it is possible to market the global MGI Alliance at a local level.

The first meeting was with Invitalia (www.invitalia.it), a state-owned company aimed at increasing inward foreign investments to Italy. MGI Studio Pragma is on the short list of local experts used by Invitalia. During the meeting, Ken and Leon got to know the services offered by Invitalia to foreign companies who want to invest in Italy.  They were also presented with some real opportunities for foreign investors in Italy. This was very much a two way initiative. The Director of Invitalia and his staff highly appreciated this meeting and gave very good feedback, which of course, is great for our reputation too!

After a nice lunch in a typical Italian restaurant in the center of Rome, Francesco, Monia, Ken and Leon headed to ICE (www.ice.it) , the Italian Agency for Trade and Promotion of Italian companies abroad. They met two senior officials there and after a short presentation, Ken and Leon were shown the role of the agency in Italy and in the USA. As a result of this meeting, ICE invited Kirsch Kohn Bridge to contact the ICE office in L.A. and to introduce their firm as a local expert for Italian companies investing in California. This could be very useful for developing future relationship and business exchange.

Francesco and Monia were very proud to have shown their friends Ken and Leon how strong and useful are such relationships with key public institutions dealing with international business.

Before leaving MGI Studio Pragma suggested that Kirsch Kohn Bridge might be able to do the same in return and introduce them to USA agencies  based in Italy in order to be short listed as their local expert for USA companies investing in Italy.

This brief report of a simple day shared with MGI colleagues in Rome shows how every MGI firm all over the world can promote and strengthen our global alliance in their local markets creating new opportunities for other colleagues, for their clients and, in the end,  for all of us.
