Long-standing MGI partnership pays forward with complimentary Excel training

A long-standing relationship built through the MGI community recently created a valuable learning opportunity for the Accru team in Adelaide, as Excel expert David Benaim delivered a complimentary one-hour modern Excel training session while in the city for the Adelaide Fringe.

David has worked with MGI since 2020, delivering online Excel and tech training and consulting support across the network. During his visit to Adelaide in March, he kindly offered his time to host a free in-person session on 20 March for Accru, with several attendees from MGI Adelaide also joining - a generous gesture that reflects both his expertise and the strong relationship built over the years. 

Mastering modern Excel 

Titled Mastering modern Excel, the one-hour session gave attendees a fast-paced, demo-led introduction to some of Excel’s most useful recent innovations - many of which can help users work more efficiently, collaborate more easily and unlock more from their spreadsheets.The session explored a range of topics, including:

• AI tools available directly within Excel that do not require a specific Copilot licence
• New data types such as checkboxes, images in cells and currencies
• Collaboration features including cell-by-cell track changes and translation tools
• Modern formulas like VSTACK, UNIQUE and FILTER for dynamic tables
• Advanced analytics, including PivotTables as formulas and Python-powered charting

A valued connection 

David is well known to many across the MGI community for his engaging training style and depth of expertise. A trainer, consultant, vlogger and comedian, he has been a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for Excel and PowerPoint since 2020. 

His offer to deliver this complimentary session was a lovely example of how long-standing partnerships within the MGI community continue to create meaningful value in practical ways.
