MGI Australasia - video interview on family business survey
Sue Prestney, Executive Chairman of MGI Australasia, gives an in-depth interview about MGI's renowned Family Business Surveys. Since 2003, MGI Australasia has worked closely with Melbourne's prestigious RMIT University to fund and develop research in this area and the survey in particular.
The interview, with RMIT Business School's Professor Kosmas Smyrnios, looks at the relationship between RMIT and MGI and how this has helped not only MGI in developing its family business services but, more importantly, what it means for client firms. Smyrnios focuses on one of MGI's clients, family owned bus company Grenda Transit Management, to see just how important involvement by RMIT was in supporting resolution of succession and other issues to ensure the company's continuing success.
Sue Prestney explains the importance of this survey to MGI: "It gives us knowledge of the market place, it tells us what is concerning those businesses, it shows us how well they're doing certain things, like corporate governance, succession planning, dispute resolution and retirement planning."
