Shortly after the Lunar New Year, MGI Hanmi Accounting Corporation in Korea collaborated with Cathy Accounting Firm in China to deliver a cross-border tax due diligence (TDD) engagement for a client project in Huizhou, Guangdong.

Delivering local tax expertise

To effectively support their cross-border client, MGI Hanmi required strong local tax expertise and on-the-ground communication support in China. Leveraging the strength of the MGI network, they partnered with Cathy Accounting Firm to provide end-to-end local field support.

Cathy Zhang of Cathy Accounting Firm said:

"Thank you to Hanmi Accounting Corporation for the opportunity to collaborate on this project. It was a pleasure to support the engagement on the ground in China and work together as MGI members to deliver a smooth and professional outcome for the client."

On-the-ground support in Huizhou

Cathy Accounting Firm deployed a senior tax manager with deep knowledge of local regulatory requirements and strong bilingual communication capabilities in both English and Chinese. The team facilitated on-site meetings with the target company, provided clarification on Chinese tax and social security compliance matters, responded to technical queries in real time, and helped ensure clear communication between the Korean lead firm and the Chinese enterprise.

Coordinated due diligence execution

In addition to on-site coordination, the China team delivered structured due diligence working papers and clear risk-based analysis, enabling an efficient and well-coordinated execution of the engagement.
