MGI members join global accountancy leaders at Indonesia’s IFAC Connect
On 3-4 December 2025, IFAC Asia-Pacific held its Connect event in Indonesia, bringing together professional accountancy organisations, regulators, and industry leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region.
Sujan Kumar Kafle from Sujan Kafle & Associates in Nepal was able to attend and represent MGI Worldwide at this exclusive event.
The program was held under the theme “Resilient, Sustainable, and Future Ready – Beyond Numbers, Building the Golden Future,” highlighting the evolving role of the accountancy profession in supporting long-term economic stability and sustainable development.
The discussions focused on strengthening professional resilience, promoting sustainability and ethical leadership, and preparing the profession for future challenges through innovation, technology adoption, and enhanced collaboration. Participants also explored how the profession can move beyond traditional financial reporting to create broader value for stakeholders and contribute meaningfully to building a strong and inclusive future for the region.
On the sidelines of the program, Sujan also had the opportunity to connect with and Gideon Adi Siallagan from MGI Gideon Adi & Rekan based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Sujan comments.
"It was a pleasure getting to know Gideon and exchange insights on professional practice and regional developments within the accountancy profession."
Benefits of attending
Attending IFAC gatherings like this gives MGI members a front-row view of the conversations shaping the future of the profession, from regulation and sustainability to technology and new expectations from stakeholders. These insights don’t stay in the room: they feed back into member firms’ strategic thinking and day-to-day delivery, strengthening the value they bring to clients.
Just as importantly, these events create space to build meaningful relationships with fellow memebers, peers, regulators and recognised leaders across the region, helping members expand their network while ensuring MGI Worldwide is visible, engaged and represented in the forums that influence the direction of global accountancy.
