The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Connect Forum, organised by the Saudi Organisation for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA), took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, earlier this month.

The event, held under the theme “Leading Transformation and Innovation: Global Priorities,” brought together more than 800 experts and 160 international leaders from across the accountancy profession.

The forum featured high-level speakers including IFAC President Jean Bouquot, IFAC CEO Lee White, and SOCPA CEO Dr Ahmad Al-Mughamis, alongside representatives from the World Bank, IESBA, and other global bodies. Discussions covered key topics shaping the future of the profession, such as the impact of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, the future of corporate sustainability reporting, and the evolving landscape of assurance, ethics, and governance.
