A big thank you to our MGI representatives Balaji Krishnan and Divya Somani of Rangamani & Associates who attended the New Delhi meeting in person, and Anuj Sharedalal of CRS Consulting who joined virtually. The event brought together regulators, practitioners and thought leaders to discuss key developments in audit quality, regulation and professional standards.

Discussions covered a broad range of topics, including global audit developments, regulatory expectations, and the importance of strong quality management and documentation. India’s Securities and Exchange Board (SEBI) and the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) shared insights into audit deficiencies and the need to strengthen governance and evidence. Delegates also explored ways to make the profession more attractive to young professionals, highlighting technology enablement, mentoring, and work-life balance.

Balaji noted the meeting’s many valuable takeaways, particularly around joint audits, documentation, and ethics. “It was a well organised event with lot of take aways.”

“The FOF Audit Quality Event today was a resounding success. Hearing directly from regulators on their perspective of audit quality, alongside the valuable insights from fellow FOF members, created a truly comprehensive dialogue.

Given India's impending corporate boom, robust financial reporting is more critical than ever, making the timing of this event highly appropriate. As FOF members, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of audit quality to support the government, clients, and investors.”
