MGI North America’s 2026 Conference brings members together in true New Orleans style
There are some cities that bring instant energy to a conference, and New Orleans certainly did that for MGI North America’s 2026 Annual Conference.
Held from 13–15 May, the event brought together member firm representatives from across North America, alongside MGI Worldwide International Committee members from around the world, for three days of conversation, connection and fresh thinking.
From the start, the atmosphere felt true to the city: full of character, music, food and plenty of opportunities to connect. A marching band and Mardi Gras Grand Marshal helped open the conference in style, with local experiences continuing throughout the programme, including a welcome reception at Manning’s, a visit to the Sazerac House, a mixology team-building event at the New Orleans School of Cooking and even a live sound bath experience.
Growth, ideas and honest conversations
Beyond the New Orleans flavour, the conference created a valuable space for firm leaders to talk openly about the future of the profession and what it means to grow as strong, independently-minded firms.
Sessions and roundtables explored many of the issues shaping accounting and advisory businesses today, including AI, technology, tax, advisory services, leadership, talent and long-term firm strategy.
These conversations are where the value of MGI Worldwide really comes to life. Members were sharing what is working, asking practical questions and learning from each other’s experience. That is the MGI Way in action: building trust, opening doors and helping one another move forward with confidence.
The power to connect in action
The conference also highlighted the strength of relationships across the network, supported by member-led presentations, peer discussions and the involvement of sponsors including title sponsor and member firm BGM. From strategy and technology to leadership and growth, the event reinforced the strength of relationships, collaboration, sharing ideas to help shape the future of the profession, and the value of the global MGI network.
At its heart, the event was a reminder that growth does not happen in isolation. It happens through conversations, shared insight and relationships built over time.
