MGI represented at the Forum of Firms Southern Africa Audit Quality Event in Cape Town
MGI ensured it was well represented at one of the region’s most important industry gatherings when Corné Maass, from MGI Bass Gordon, attended the recent Forum of Firms Southern Africa Audit Quality Event in Cape Town. Her participation helped reinforce the network’s commitment to staying engaged with emerging trends and developments in audit and assurance.
The event, held on 6 November 2025 at the Cape Town Marriott Hotel Crystal Towers, and streamed to virtual attendees, brought together regulators, innovators and leaders from across Southern Africa and beyond. With a central theme focused on the future of assurance, discussions explored challenges and opportunities for enhancing audit quality in a rapidly changing environment.
Key topics included talent pipelines, ethical leadership, the impact of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, and the growing importance of sustainability reporting. These conversations aligned closely with ongoing global efforts to keep the profession informed about evolving regulations and industry expectations.
Corné comments: "It was a privilege to represent MGI Worldwide’s Technical Committee at this event, learning about the latest updates impacting the audit and assurance profession and connecting with other networks and stakeholders."
A big thank you to Corné who took time out of her schedule to attend the meeting, helping to strengthen the network’s connections and demonstrating MGI’s continued focus on contributing to industry-wide progress.
