Yongqing Fang, Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, and Canton Tower

Saturday 29 August
14:00 to 17:30

This 3-hour post-conference tour offers delegates a curated journey through the rich cultural heritage and modern vibrancy of Guangzhou, combining historic charm with iconic city views. The experience begins at Yongqing Fang, a beautifully revitalised old district that preserves the essence of traditional Xiguan culture. Here, delegates can stroll along preserved 1930s arcade streets, explore heritage workshops, and experience local crafts such as embroidery, carving, and copper work, all within a lively and photogenic setting.

The tour continues to the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, a masterpiece of Lingnan architecture and a nationally protected cultural site. Renowned for its intricate wood, brick, and stone carvings, as well as extensive collections of traditional folk art, the hall offers a deeper appreciation of southern China’s artistic and cultural legacy. It serves as both a historical landmark and a museum, housing thousands of artefacts that reflect the region’s craftsmanship and heritage.

The experience concludes with a visit to the iconic Canton Tower, Guangzhou’s modern city landmark. Delegates will ascend to the 450-metre outdoor observation deck for breathtaking panoramic views of the city, including the Pearl River, central business district, and surrounding landscapes. This final stop provides a striking contrast to the earlier cultural sites, capturing the dynamic and contemporary spirit of Guangzhou while offering excellent photo opportunities.

The cost of this tour is USD $60. Please select the relevant ticket during the registration process if you'd like to join.
