MGI’s 10th annual Talent Meeting is celebrated in London

Hosted by MGI Europe and MGI UK & Ireland, the 10th (yes 10th!) annual Talent Meeting took place earlier this month, in London. The event brought together more than 100 young professionals from 26 firms, across 14 countries in Europe, the UK and Ireland for an energy-filled 24-hours of connecting and learning.

As usual, the meeting was a celebration of our collective talent and provided an amazing opportunity for our young professionals to begin fostering international connections and building their netwrork.

Focus on communication

The meeting opened with insights from the MGI CEO, Maxine Brock, and MGI Chair, Jane Lowden, on the benefits of the MGI network, followed by a keynote presentation from Angus Farr on effective communication with clients and colleagues. Delegates then took part in roundtable discussions exploring communication, working with tasks, networking, stress and managing yourself, building on the earlier keynote.

High energy problem solving

In the afternoon, participants took part in an energetic team-building challenge, completing 90 tasks in 90 minutes. The session concluded with a reflection on the key lessons learned from the activity.

“Working as a single, synchronised unit with 100 professionals from across the MGI network under intense time pressure was an incredible lesson in teamwork and problem-solving. Observing how professionals from different countries approach challenges and communicate under stress was a real masterclass in modern collaboration.”
László Killik, MGI-BPO

“The combination of learning, networking and cultural exchange made the days both inspiring and energising. The session on communication and how we are perceived by clients was particularly valuable, highlighting how tone of voice, word choice and body language all influence the impression we leave.”

“Hearing different perspectives from firms in other countries was particularly valuable. It was interesting to see how professionals across Europe approach similar challenges and how much we can learn from one another through open discussion and collaboration.”
Peter Perry, Cottons Group

Jane Lowden, MGI Chair concludes:

“It was fantastic to spend time with and learn from our Next Gen community. We also heard about initiatives such as the Shadow International Committee and the new European Next Gen group, which highlight MGI’s commitment to supporting the next generation of talent in our firms.”
