When a client needs support in another country, knowing who to turn to can make all the difference. A connection between MGI members in Australia, India and the Philippines shows how relationships built through the NextGen IC helped firms respond quickly and confidently to international client needs.

The opportunity began when an MGI member in Australia reached out to a fellow NextGen IC member in India, who connected him with a trusted firm in the Philippines. What started as a straightforward introduction created a potential route to local support for a client operating in Manila, while opening the door to future collaboration between the firms.

Jake Duignan, from Accru Felsers in Sydney, and NextGen IC representative for Australasia, was exploring support options for a client with a subsidiary in Manila. He wanted to speak with a trusted local firm about the support available should the engagement move forward.

Jake contacted fellow NextGen IC member, Satish Sarab at B C Shetty & Co. in India, to ask whether he could help. Drawing on his relationships across the network, Satish introduced him to Nick Torres at TVP Consulting Group in the Philippines.

The introduction gave Jake access to relevant local knowledge while creating an opportunity for the Australian and Philippine firms to explore how they could work together to support the client.

Satish explained that introductions like this demonstrate the value of the relationships developed through the network’s leadership initiatives.

“The Shadow IC provides a great platform for building trusted relationships across the network. Making introductions like this helps ensure our firms are ready to support clients wherever opportunities arise.”

Following the introduction, TVP Consulting Group shared more about the support it provides to international clients in the Philippines, including entity setup, tax and compliance, accounting, payroll and back-office outsourcing.

“Being able to connect quickly with experienced MGI colleagues gives us confidence that we can provide the right support if our client proceeds with their plans in Manila.”
