Carter Backer Winter (CBW) has launched a new corporate finance team to be led by the latest addition to the UK accounting firm.
Heading up the team is Odhran Dodd, who comes to the firm’s new offices in London, UK with 15 years’ experience in investment banking. The former UHY Hacker Young partner has completed over 60 deals in sectors ranging from recruitment, manufacturing, financial services, transportation, oil and gas, mining and renewables.
In spite of this breadth of experience, Dodd’s real specialism is in selling established profitable companies with retiring owner managers.
Odhran Dodd says he relishes the challenge establishing the brand new corporate finance department at CBW.
He says: “I believe that the post-recessionary market is fast gaining momentum and creating new opportunities for both established companies and those ready to test new waters.
“I expect the CBW Corporate Finance team to grow fast since there is a lot of funding available for deals and the environment is very positive for corporate expansion. We will have the expertise to help our clients harness this growth.”
In addition to his experience, Odhran also brings with him a network of connections with lending banks and alternative capital providers as well as Nomads, brokers, trading houses, financial PR companies and lawyers.
Managing Partner and member of MGI's International Committee, representing UK & Ireland, Peter Winter, welcomed Odhran to the firm and believes his appointment, coupled with the creation of the new department, goes a long way to creating a full service firm. He is confident that with the economy improving and companies becoming more optimistic, the corporate finance team will be attracting plenty of new business in the months and years ahead.
