Belgium firm Van Herck & Co Bedrijfsrevisoren CVBA is looking to expand its global footprint after becoming the latest addition to the MGI Europe area.
Van Herck was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Antwerp, where it focuses on the diamond trading and construction sectors. It is one of two legal entities providing audit, accountancy, tax and legal services.
Most of its clients are local small and medium enterprises (SMEs), owner-managed businesses, subsidiaries of international groups and non-profit organisations.
Philippe Boesmans, member of the Belgian Institute of Recognized Auditors (IBR-IRE) and a key contact at the firm, says MGI was an obvious choice thanks to its long-standing global presence and that it is seen as “a solid partner by international groups operating in Belgium”.
He adds: “We are looking for solutions for our Belgium-based clients with international subsidiaries and affiliates, seeking support and advice in foreign countries.”
Van Herck also wants to be able to participate in tenders for smaller international groups seeking cross-border services.
“We hope to be part of an international network of experts in audit, accountancy and tax consulting, share expertise and knowledge on common matters, develop valuable contacts with other members and broaden our professional and personal horizons,” says Boesmans.
The firm will offer referred work to other European members for some of its clients that have international subsidiaries and affiliate companies.
“We can offer our expert knowledge on Belgian accounting standards, company taxes, VAT and customs duties and legal matters to any worldwide member of the network,” adds Boesmans. “We can offer our services in audit, accountancy and tax and legal consulting to any group/company with operations in Belgium.”
