How is Italy faring in the world economy?

MGI firm Studio Pragma reveals latest economic update from Italian Trade Promotion Agency (ICE).

MGI member firm Studio Pragma has posted an article on the latest economic update from the Italian Trade Promotion Agency (ICE).

Italy in the World Economy, a summary of the ICE report for 2012-13, is a useful guide for businesses not just in Italy and the euro area but worldwide.

The detailed study provides a number of insights on trade, growth, economic policies and various sectors affected.

Italy for one is struggling. “Hit by the sovereign debt crisis in the euro area, the Italian economy is back in deep recession. GDP fell by 2.4 per cent in 2012, wiping out all the gains of the previous two years,” the report states.

The 50-page report contains a wealth of statistics and analysis that are well worth consideration if clients have operations in Italy or Europe.

In 2013, MGI’s Studio Pragma attended the launch of the World Investment Report in Rome, where the previous edition of the Italy in the World Economy study was released by the ICE.

Francesco Bartolucci, managing partner at the firm and chairman of the Coordinating Committee, MGI Europe commented: “This is an interesting paper and a very useful read for members looking to understand our market better in Italy.”
