The MGI UK & Ireland Conference was this year as enjoyable as ever, ending on a high note with professional mind reader David Meade

MGI UK & Ireland Partners & Managers Conference was held on the 24-26 November in Surrey, UK.

The MGI UK & Ireland Partners & Managers Conference was this year as enjoyable as ever. Held on the 24-26 November at the Selsdon Park Hotel & Golf Club in Surrey, UK, the event attracted members from across the UK & Ireland, wider Europe and Internationally.

With a theme of “Risk, Return and Decision Making”, delegates were able to explore what drives them in business, gaining from a full programme and variety of speakers that entertained and inspired.

Tracey Davidson spoke on behalf of Swedish Banking Group Handelsbanken, renowned for its individual approach to decision making, while co-founder of member firm Milsted Langdon LLP Simon Milsted shared his story of how he re-engineered a company outside of accounting to achieve 30-fold growth.

MGI Worldwide Deputy Chairman Roger Isaacs presented an Update from MGI Worldwide, along with Chairman Ed Fahey and Global CEO Clive Bennett, which acted as a good reminder for all delegates as to why they should be proud of membership.

Accredited business coach Parag Prassad took delegates on a journey from being an accountant to becoming an entrepreneur and why being “just an accountant” was no longer enough.  In the afternoon, Casper Berry gave a thought-provoking insight into risk and decision-making in the game of poker.  Later entertaining delegates with an opportunity to play poker with a professional.

The conference provided plenty of opportunity for members to meet and talk with their MGI colleagues and the final day of the conference did not disappoint.

David Meade, a familiar face on TV and a professional mind reader, was energetic and engaging, showing delegates how they could use the skills of a mind reader to be more effective in business.  David interacted with delegates, forcing them to think critically about the challenges around them, while demonstrating a number of tools and techniques that delegates could use straight away.
