Former Baker Tilly Brazil member joins MGI Worldwide, and takes MGI-prefix as part of major firm rebrand
MGI Worldwide welcomes a new highly-regarded member to our Latin America region, MGI Assurance Auditores Independentes S.S., which is based in Curitiba, Brazil.
Former Baker Tilly Brazil member and newly branded firm, MGI Assurance Auditores Independentes S.S. is the latest member to join the MGI Worldwide network in the Latin America region. As part of the move, the firm is delighted to announce its decision to rebrand, using the MGI-prefix as part of its firm name.

Karin Monchak, one of the two partners at MGI Assurance Auditores Independentes S.S. and also key MGI Worldwide contact at the firm, explained that membership of MGI Worldwide will allow the firm to retain its independence, yet still operate as part of a well-established international accounting network.
“With Baker Tilly Brazil, the drive seems to be towards merging the whole network under a one-firm concept, a solution that would be unacceptable to me, given the risks posed by inadequate partners," Karin said.
"With the majority of audit fees coming from the audit of non-equity investment funds, under the supervisory scope of CVM (the Brazilian SEC), these clients require an auditor with an international brand so our membership of MGI Worldwide is extremely important for us.”
Curitiba: A key location for doing business in Brazil
Curitiba is the eighth largest city in Brazil in terms of population, and the largest in the country's southern region. As the capital of the state of Paraná it is one of Latin America's cultural, political and economic centres.
MGI Assurance Auditores Independentes S.S. joins fellow MGI Worldwide members Controle Contabilidade (based in Amazonas) and São Paulo-based MGI SengerWanger Auditores Independentes.
