MGI UK & Ireland attracts close to 100 delegates to its annual Partners, Directors & Managers Conference

MGI UK & Ireland Partners, Directors & Managers Conference was held on the 28-30 November in Old Windsor, UK.

This year’s MGI UK & Ireland Partners, Directors & Managers Conference was held on the 28-30 November at the historic De Vere Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor, UK. The event attracted close to 100 global accounting network members from across the UK & Ireland region as well as a number from Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

New meeting format

This year, the meeting began on Wednesday 28 November with an informal drinks reception and dinner followed by a full conference day on Thursday 29 running through until the afternoon of Friday 30 November. This new format proved to be a great success with a large number of delegates making use of free time on Friday afternoon to network with colleagues or debrief within their firms.

Taking a look at Employee Experience

Following on from the 2017 conference which focused on Customer Experience, the world of Employee Experience was the theme for this year’s meeting.

Guest speakers included Caroline Plumb OBE, founder and CEO of FluidlyRachel Burton, Facebook HR EMEA; Flick Hardingham, Director of Habit, who facilitated lively small group discussions on value of a compelling, purpose-driven employee experience; and Professor Moira Clark from The Henley Business School who led an entertaining discussion on the need to understand the relationship between organisational climate and business performance.

Welcome to our newest member

We were delighted to welcome Paul Correa and Andrew Hosking from Fiduciary Wealth, an independent wealth management advisory firm, who recently joined the MGI UK & Ireland region from Gibraltar.

News updates

Clive Bennett, CEO, and Roger Isaacs, Chairman of MGI Worldwide gave a global update sharing all the latest news from around the world, and Simon Rowe, from member firm Milsted Langdon LLP, gave a presentation and update on the new Business Collaboration Initiative aimed at helping member firms around the world further opportunities and build business together.

Time to network and catch up with friends

Participants had plenty of opportunities to catch up with friends and colleagues.  In contrast to Wednesday’s informal reception, dinner on Thursday was held in the spectacular 19th century De Vere Beaumont Estate Chapel, complete with rose window, gilt altar and hand-painted ceilings.

After dinner, it was inspiring to hear from members about the numerous and diverse ways in which their firms had benefitted from MGI Worldwide membership over the last 12 months.
