MGI Worldwide once again makes the list of Asia's top 20 global accounting networks

MGI Worldwide ranks again among top 20 international accountancy networks in Asia

MGI Worldwide is proud to once again rank among the top 20 global accountancy networks in Asia in the August 2018 edition of the International Accounting Bulletin (IAB).

Malaysia

In Malaysia, MGI Worldwide member firm AljeffriDean single-handedly contributed to the international accountancy network, ranking in 19th place in the region. 

More than three-quarters (77 per cent) of this came from audit and assurance services, 14 per cent from tax services, five per cent from accounting services, three per cent from advisory work and one per cent from elsewhere.

In terms of its staff data, MGI Worldwide ranked at number 17 in Malaysia, adding 14 per cent more staff in the last 12 months to reach a total of 84. This figure includes nine Partners and 75 professionals across six offices.

Sharifah Fauziah Aljeffri - Partner at AljeffriDean - was quoted in the August IAB, explaining that she believes the audit process can be improved with more visible audit partner involvement in discussions with audit committees. She emphasised the need for in-depth deliberation on key audit matters to ensure everything is done correctly.

China

MGI Worldwide is represented by member firms LehmanBrown and MGI Excellence & Co., Ltd in China, where the global accounting network ranked 19th in Asia for its staff data. 

Numbers have risen by 16 per cent over the past year to reach 262 overall. This total comprises 11 Partners and 251 professionals based in eight offices.

Hong Kong

Over in Hong Kong, MGI Worldwide ranked in 16th place in terms of its fee data, and 17th place for its staff numbers.

The network is represented by Kenneth Chau & Co. in Hong Kong, which saw its fee income rise by one per cent in the last 12 months. The majority (45 per cent) of this came from audit and assurance services, thanks to the work of its 24 staff, including two Partners.

South Korea

In South Korea, the August 2018 IAB ranked MGI Worldwide 13th for its fee data, most of which came from accounting services (41 per cent). 

MGI Worldwide is represented in the country by 47 staff across - including 18 Partners and 29 professionals - who work across two offices for MGI Hanmi Accounting Corporation and helped to place the network at number 16 in the rankings for its staff data.
