MGI Worldwide performs strongly in the Americas in latest IAB report

IAB rankings put MGI Worldwide Worldwide in excellent positions in both North and Latin America

The most recent edition of the IAB has placed MGI Worldwide international accounting association in excellent positions in both North America and Latin America, as the network continues to grow.

The most recent edition of the International Accounting Bulletin (IAB), released in February, has shown how strong MGI Worldwide is in regions around the globe. In North American and Latin America, our member firms showed excellent performance - results to be proud of.

Top-20 in North America

In North America, MGI Worldwide member firms employed 454 people and took in $96.1 million over the last year. This placed MGI at number 20 in the region, which is a positive achievement.

One aspect of the Trump presidency has been tax reform, which has altered accountants’ jobs in a big way in the region. The introduction of changes to a range of different areas of taxation, combined with incomplete IRS guidance, has provided accountants with new challenges. However, there is uncertainty on the horizon, as the political actions of the Trump administration have often had significant impact on businesses, and are difficult to predict.

Positive results in Latin America

Meanwhile, MGI Worldwide placed 19th in Latin America out of all other networks in the region in terms of number of staff employed. Our member firms in Latin America have a total of 547 staff, which is ten per cent more than the previous year. Of those, 65 are partners and the remaining 482 are professionals, split across 27 different offices.

We saw significant fee growth in the region as well, with MGI member firms earning $14.5 million; an impressive increase of 17 per cent compared to the year before. Audit made up 47 per cent of this income, with tax comprising 13 per cent and accounting services 14 per cent.
