MGI Worldwide wishes Arthur Baguley of South Africa-based MGI Bass Gordon the very best on his retirement

Long-term MGI Worldwide member firm, MGI Bass Gordon of Cape Town, South Africa, recently announced that Partner Arthur Baguley was retiring from the firm at the end of June 2019 after more than 50 years’ in the accounting and auditing profession.

Arthur has played a key role in the life of MGI Worldwide over the years and has been actively involved at all levels. Arthur served as International Committee member for the MGI Africa Region and as MGI Worldwide Chairman from 2009-2011 and was an enthusiastic and frequent participant at network meetings – he will be greatly missed. Arthur has kindly agreed to continue his membership of the IC, representing the Africa Region until his handover to Daddy Nkuvu at the AGM in Dubai in October.

Our CEO, Clive Bennett, commented: “We will indeed sorely miss Arthur. He was an outstanding Chairman at a time of big changes for our organization and has been a wise voice in our governance for many years. I and everyone on the IC have always treasured Arthur’s calm and thoughtful advice. At a personal level, he and his wife, Verna, have been extremely kind to me and we value the warm friendship they extended to me and many others.”

MGI Bass Gordon says:

Arthur will be dearly missed, but we are confident that he will find the same success and happiness in retirement that he experienced during his career. As he starts this new chapter in his life, we wish him well and everything of the best in all his future endeavors.

Although this change is effective 30 June 2019, Arthur will still be at the Firm’s office from time to time and will always be available on email to assist with any matters.
