MGI Latin America firms hold a Zoom meeting to exchange ideas on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on businesses and markets
MGI Worldwide and CPAAI firms from across the Latin America Region gathered earlier this month on a Zoom call to debate the impact that the current coronavirus outbreak is having on the management of clients and their businesses, and the challenges of managing work teams and remote work.
Held in Spanish, and attracting 49 participants, the meeting was hosted by MGI Worldwide with CPAAI's CEO, Clive Bennett, who shared some of the main points that had been discussed in the recent worldwide COVID-19 member support webinars.
It was an opportunity for an interesting exchange of experiences and ideas, as well as to providing an overview of how the Latin American region is coping with these issues. By sharing with colleagues across the region, participants were able to draw useful information from the debate which they were able to take away and apply to their own firms, clients and collaborators.
The Latin America Region held a further Zoom some days later which focussed specifically on the Audit profession. Participating firms discussed ideas and shared their opinions on the consequences of the pandemic within the Auditing profession.
Andrea Pallas, Regional Director for Latin America says, "In this particular year where face-to-face meetings have been suspended or postponed, virtual meetings are an excellent tool to keep us up-to-date with information and to continue strengthening communication and integration between member firms."
All the participants valued these meetings and aim to continue with similar gatherings in the future.
