MGI Africa maintains virtual engagement as local accounting network members return to work

MGI Africa regional members gathered online to exchange ideas on how to support local firms and their clients

Another successful Zoom call was held on 25 June, gathering 8 regional member firms from across MGI Africa to exchange ideas on how their practices could best support local firms and their clients.

The group was pleased to have the participation of Jo Parker from Mercia Group, MGI Worldwide with CPAAI's Global Technology Partner.  Mercia has been helping accountants comply with the latest regulations and professional standards for over 30 years and is one of the leading providers of training, marketing, and compliance services for accountants.

Productive discussion

The online meeting proved very productive, with Jo sharing suggestions and ideas on best training practices and on ways to ensure that training is applicable to all levels of staff - these included consideration of delivery language and possible CPD certification. Jo talked members through some of the resources, podcasts, blogs and guides on Covid-19 that can be found on Mercia Group website.

Jo Parker felt that this was a great opportunity to speak directly with the MGI Africa region members albeit via zoom saying, “The ability to understand more about what support firms overseas would most value from a provider like Mercia is important to us”.

Members also discussed the situation in their respective countries and shared how firms are making it safe for their staff to return to work and how they are conducting audits and other services in the “new normal”.
