Paul Winder, Regional Coordinator for the UK & Ireland brings us up to speed with news from the region - as recorded during the 2020 virtual meeting. If you missed the update, it’s not too late to watch the recording now!

Introduction to the region
Paul gives us an overview of the region, which is represented by almost 650 professionals spread across 14 member firms with offices in the UK, Ireland, Gibraltar and Jersey.
High online activity with many virtual meetings and events
All of the planned physical meetings were moved online from March 2020, and most have grown substantially due to a desire by member firms to stay connected. Managing partner forums, which used to take place every 6 months, now are held every 3-4 weeks. Automation forums have risen from two per year to once each month due to the ease of moving them online, and audit forums have also become more regular. In addition, there have been board meetings, a tax forum, payroll forum, MindBridge forum and an MGI Academy.
A mind frame of sharing
Members have been keen to share, participate, and help support each other, which has helped the region stay strong and continue to thrive. Paul concludes that it has been great to see that MGI Worldwide CPAAI continues to do what it does best: bring members together.
