If you missed the live event, it’s not too late to hear an update on what’s happening within the global network and association in Africa. Whether you are an Africa Region member, or simply interested in hearing what your global colleagues have been doing, you can now view a recording of Regional Director, Audrey Danasamy’s Africa Region Report as delivered during the October Virtual Global meeting.
Member recruitment
Represented by more than 350 professionals in 13 member firms across 12 countries, the Africa region is led by IC member Daddy Nkuvu Wena from member firm MGI Strong Nkv in Democratic Republic of Congo. With a strong focus on member recruitment, the region is actively working to recruit new members across a number of countries, including Botswana, Ethiopia, the Ivory Coast, Namibia, Rwanda, Senegal and most recently acquired a new member in Benin.
Member engagement
Audrey explains that member engagement has proved hugely successful with many one-on-one calls and discussions, alongside Zoom calls where MGI Worldwide and CPAAI members have actively sought to get to know each other.
Member support and collaboration
Another big focus for the Africa region is the support of members through member collaboration. Audrey elaborated:
“The Africa region has had webinars promoting audit technology, software, manuals and discussions. We’ve also supported members with procurement and practice management, putting them in touch with service providers in the region.”
Marketing and making the most of membership
The Africa region is fast-growing with great potential. Members have been actively talking to, collaborating with, and looking out for each other and for opportunities to raising their profile in their local markets as well as within the MGI Worldwide CPAAI global community using the mgiworld.com website, social media channels and other platforms.
Together with the global marketing team, the Africa region has been supporting its members and has published a ‘Doing Business in Africa’ video, which members have been using on their websites. Members have also contributed to thought-leadership materials that have been used in publications both internally and externally.
