Held in April, the 2021 Central European Circle Meeting attracted an impressive 71 delegates from 41 MGI Worldwide CPAAI member firms, from across 14 countries.
Andreas Klier, from Pape & Co., Michael Grüne, from Menold Bezler and Thomas Althoff, from RLT Ruhrmann Tieben & Partner, all member firms based in Germany, hosted the annual gathering that was held virtually.
This year, the main agenda items included:
- Networking
- News on Specialist groups
- Collaboration Project and
- MGI-CPAAI merger
In addition to the Europe-based member firms in attendance, 4 member firms from MGI UK & Ireland Region joined the meeting, making the most of the time to make new contacts and strengthen their existing network - these included Ensors Chartered Accountants, Milsted Langdon LLP, MGI Midgley Snelling LLP and F. W. Smith, Riches & Co. It also provided everyone with a valuable opportunity to keep up to date with latest developments within the European accounting and auditing industry.
Zoltan Paksy, European Regional Director, comments on the advantages of the online gatherings:
"Whilst we all miss meeting in person, one of the advantages of virtual meetings is that so many more people can attend. With over 70 people registered, this was our biggest Central circle meeting EVER and was a great opportunity to meet new colleagues and catch up with old friends."

Thank you
Thomas Althoff took this opportunity to announce his resignation as Leader of the Central European Circle and handed over duties to Andreas Klier. We would like to thank Thomas for all he has done in leading the Central Circle and wish Andreas all the best in his new role.
A big thank you also to our hosts Andreas Klier, Michael Grüne and Thomas Althoff, and to everyone who joined the event and helped make it a such a success.
