MGI Worldwide member firms in Mexico held their virtual 2022 General Assembly

MGI Worldwide accountancy network firms in Mexico held their virtual 2022 General Assembly on 11 March

The 2022 General Assembly of MGI Worldwide member firms in Mexico took place on 11 March, with representatives from 10 local firms. The event was held virtually, for the second consecutive year, but this did not lessen the enthusiasm and commitment from all participants.

The agenda included a report from the Assembly President, a Treasury report, and updates from all works committees, composed of representatives from the different firms, who actively collaborate and support each other around specific topics: membership, exchange of information, quality control, taxation and training.

As a complement to the reports from the subregion, Cuauhtémoc Contreras, Partner at Zesati Contadores, and International Committee Representative for Latin America, and Andrea Pallas, Regional Director for Latin America, presented an update on the international and regional topics, respectively.

Election of the Board of Directors

Participants also voted to elect the Board of Directors for 2022-2024, and Omar Antonio Perez Enriquez, Partner at Perez Olvera Enriquez Asociados, was unanimously re-elected president.

Omar Antonio Perez Enriquez comments:

“My first period coincided with the year of the merger of MGI and CPAAI, in addition to the start of the pandemic. All this brought great challenges. At that time, the support of the members that make up the council was the fundamental pillar to implement ideas and follow them up. Despite the difficulties, I think we came out stronger, because we survived personally and in business. Now it's time to look ahead and finish consolidating the projects we started.”

Fernanda Lopez, Mexico Manager, described the event as very positive:

“This year, the Ordinary General Assembly of the subregion was a very fruitful event, with the participation of 100% of Firms, and important agreements reached for 2022. The renewal of the Fiscal Commission and the Membership Commission will achieve very specific objectives, and the ongoing work of the Quality Commission will serve the immediate needs of our Firms."

The meeting ended with the usual presentation of the business opportunities. Omar Antonio Perez Enriquez spoke about the Orient Business Park project, an industrial park located in Guanajuato, in the so-called "Central Corridor" of Mexico.
