Held at the end of May, the 2025 MGI MENA Regional Meeting brought together 35 delegates from 16 countries, and 22 firms, for an energising two-day event in Doha, Qatar.

Hosted by Doha-based member firm Alok K. Saksena & Partners Accounting & Auditing, the meeting was a showcase of the MENA region’s dynamic spirit where professionals come together as a family of firms, committed to learning, sharing, and growing.

Partner Smahane Saidi, from new member firm CCG Algerie said:

“It was an extraordinary moment of sharing, constructive exchanges, and an unforgettable human experience. The closeness and friendship amongst the members was incredible. We are so pleased to have joined MGI Worldwide."

Expanding horizons through insight and innovation

The theme, Expanding Horizons: Innovation, Expertise & Opportunities in Audit and Advisory, resonated throughout the sessions. In a rapidly evolving profession, member firms were encouraged to look beyond traditional services, embrace new lines of business, and seize emerging opportunities.

Sessions included:

  • An IFRS update by Vijay Kumar which provided crucial insights, especially with the upcoming IFRS 18. Firms must start early preparation by educating their people and engaging clients to ensure readiness for the new disclosure requirements.
  • Laurent Marliere’s talk on the role of CPAs in private equity and M&A which encouraged firms to think beyond compliance, exploring how their expertise can unlock value for clients in complex deals.
  • Forensic & fraud audits which opened delegates’ eyes to the growing demand for forensic audit services. With real-life case studies and practical insights, Nikhil Parulkar highlighted how firms can detect fraud, manage third-party risks, and support clients facing complex challenges.
