RINA’s Tom Neff on how MGI adds value for a major client

For Tom Neff, International Tax Chair at RINA accountancy corporation in the US, the international reach and scale of the accounting network proved a major benefit for one of the firm’s main clients.

Speaking on the sidelines of the MGI North America meeting in May, he told us about how being able to point the client to a member in another country helped break down barriers to doing business abroad.

“One of our largest clients has significant real estate holdings and businesses throughout the US and was deciding for the first time to expand into Spain and Portugal,” said Tom, who immediately referred the client to a member in Spain for assistance.

Tom’s client was thrilled with the knowledge and responsiveness of the Spanish member, which greatlyimproved the relationship and boosted RINA’s credibility as an organization.

“It felt good to be able to connect them and that he was pleased with the level of service,” he explained.

“When my clients are going overseas for the first time, it’s daunting. There’s a new set of rules, cultural differences in different countries, there are all kinds of barriers to doing business in another part of the world and the benefit that being part of MGI can bring to our clients is to very quickly break down those barriers,” he said.
