UK & Ireland region closes off the year with successful conference in Manchester

Held on the 19-21 November, in Manchester, the 2025 UK & Ireland Conference was a resounding success, gathering just under 120 delegates, including an amazing 22 attendees from 12 countries outside the region, making it one of our most internationally represented UK & Ireland conferences to date!

This year's theme was: The changing world of accountancy and client expectations, with Jonathan Winchester from Insight 6 opening the event with an engaging session on customer experience. Delegates then enjoyed two thought-provoking panel discussions before hearing from economist Daniel Mahoney of Handelsbanken, who provided an insightful overview of current economic trends.

Football fun

The first day concluded with a lively dinner at the National Football Museum, where delegates had the chance to take part in a range of interactive activities. Penalty shoot-outs and football challenges brought out the competitive spirit in many attendees, creating a fun and memorable end to the day.

Inspiring speakers

Day two continued with an impressive line-up of speakers.

Futures-thinking expert Graham Norris explored how leaders can make better decisions in a rapidly evolving world, while Rob Brown, host of the Accounting Voices Podcast and YouTube channel, shared perspectives on staying relevant in a fast-changing profession.

Callum Macrae of JE Consulting followed with a live demonstration of AI avatar technology. The day culminated in a standout keynote from Geoff Ramm, creator of Celebrity Service, who inspired the audience with strategies for designing customer experiences that leave a lasting impression.

To round off the event, members enjoyed a guided walk through Manchester with local historian and author Jonathan Schofield, gaining a deeper appreciation of the city’s character and heritage before gathering again for dinner.
