We’re delighted to welcome another Europe member, Martins Pereira, João Careca & Associados, as the firm joins the MGI Worldwide network from CPAAI

We are thrilled to announce the joining of Martins Pereira, João Careca & Associados, based in Lisbon, Portugal, to the MGI Worldwide network.

Bordering Spain and the Atlantic Ocean, Portugal is Europe’s most westerly country. Once known for its navigators and seafarers, the country is now known by many as a top tourist destination, however, the country also boasts a significant industry sector. The country is home to many notable leading companies with worldwide reputations, including Sonae Indústria, the largest producer of wood-based panels in the world and Amorim, the world leader in cork production – Portugal, in fact, produces half of the world’s cork.

Cars and automobile parts, textiles, processed petroleum oils, and footwear are other significant industries - and wine, of course!

Introducing the firm

Founded in 1989 by Manuel Martins Pereira, the firm is led by a team of three partners and six professional staff and has more than 30 years of experience in providing services to public and private entities, particularly in the following areas:

Why join the MGI Worldwide network?

The firm previously collaborated with a CPAAI firm in São Paulo who assisted with one of their clients in the salt cod business and hopes that joining the MGI Worldwide network will bring many more opportunities to collaborate cross-border.

Alec Berteen, Key Contact at the firm says:

“We decided to join the network to have the opportunity of getting to know and connect with other members and to offer better support to our clients with international business. The quality review and the improved branding and marketing support from MGI Worldwide were also key factors. We hope to get increased business from other countries as well as sharing knowledge and experiences.”

Martins Pereira, João Careca & Associados is keen to improve audit quality and work with more common standards and procedures in place. The firm sees that being a member of MGI – particularly as the network is a member of the Forum of Firms – is a way to improve quality control.
