Excited to build new relationships and collaborate with other member firms, Honduras-based Auditoria y Consultoria Asociada joins the MGI Worldwide network from CPAAI
We are thrilled to announce that Auditoria y Consultoria Asociada S. de RL. de C.V. based in Tegucigalpa, capital of Honduras, has joined the MGI Worldwide global accountancy network, having transitioned its membership from CPAAI.
The firm becomes our second network member based in Honduras, Central America, where economic growth in the last few years has averaged 7% a year, making it one of the highest in Latin America.
About Auditoria y Consultoria Asociada
Now led by Susan Alcerro and Harold Alcerro, Auditoria y Consultoria Asociada was founded in 1996 by Susan and Harold’s father – the firm celebrated its 25th anniversary in July of 2021.
Currently, around 80% of the firm’s business activities focus on auditing, with the remainder based around tax work, accounting, consulting, financial consulting and transfer pricing. Auditoria y Consultoria Asociada is looking forward to involving itself in the life of the network and plans to join MGI Worldwide’s Global Transfer Pricing specialist group, where their knowledge will benefit all of our member firms!

Why join the network?
Harold Alcerro, MGI Worldwide’s key contact at the firm, explained how Auditoria y Consultoria Asociada is eager to build collaborations with other member firms and why the firm is particularly excited about the opportunities that will come from joining the network:
"Since joining CPAAI in December 2001 we have had great experiences collaborating with other Latin America firms and helping their clients with operations in Honduras. We have collaborated with firms in Mexico, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica; in the almost 20 years since joining CPAAI we have been able to create good relationships with most firms, and have created friendships with most members thanks to our participation in most of the annual LATAM conferences throughout the years.
"With this new opportunity to be a part of MGI Worldwide we have high expectations to collaborate with new firms and members around the world, to gain new experiences and knowledge and to improve our auditing and consulting practices. In a very special year for us, in which we are celebrating our first 25 years, and have undergone extensive internal restructuring, we wanted to take advantage of the momentum to make this decision, confident that this step will help us meet our institutional objectives of local growth and international projection.

Exciting collaboration opportunities
The firm has already made contact with Hector Pineda at MGI Worldwide’s other Honduras firm, MGI Pineda Torres. The two firms had already worked together previously so are excited about the potential of even greater collaborations in the future. Of particular benefit to both firms is that they can refer auditing work to each other, particularly in the credit union sector where, registered firms in Honduras cannot be audited by the same audit firm for more than 3 years in a row. Auditoria y Consultoria Asociada hopes to use MGI Pineda Torres to service its clients when they reach this 3-year limit. This way, the firm can retain its clients, knowing that they are being well serviced and benefitting their member firm partner in the process.
